PTTools is very passionate, very service-minded and very honest about the possibilities and unpossibilities of Slate Desktop.
After two weeks of evaluation
I decided to drop the whole idea. I’ll explain why, but before I do that, I want to stress that the company behind Slate Desktop is very passionate, very service-minded and very honest about the possibilities and unpossibilities of their product. I have seldom worked with a company that was so honest and that spent so much time on one single client. In the end, they also gave me a full refund. These are great people and what they state is absolutely true… in theory. However, as usual, reality is stubborn.
PTTools note: The gaming industry, like other creative writing environments (novels, poetry, etc.) is very challenging for SMT. Slate Desktop’s automated evaluation scores for Loek’s first engine were promising, but Loek’s experiments highlight the risks of relying on these scores for your final decision. Ultimately, only you can judge if Slate Desktop is the right tool for you. In turn, we promise to support you through that process. Here’s Loek’s full report. Thanks Loek!
